My name is Peter Bowe.  I’m the founder and principal consultant at Elephant Capability.

I live in Brisbane with my 3 girls - my wife Sarah, my daughter Audrey and my miniature schnauzer Bessie.  (You can read a little about Audrey here and Bessie here.)

In my lifetime I’ve figured out that there are plenty of things that I’m not all that good at.  These include cooking risotto, manipulating spreadsheets, keeping plants alive and selecting shopping trolleys which can be pushed in a straight line.

Offsetting these limitations, I've discovered that I do have 3 very useful strengths:

  1. I’m able to build and maintain really good connections with just about anyone

  2. I'm good at sizing up tricky problems and figuring out solutions which are straightforward and effective

  3. I have an optimistic spirit and an ability to see the funny side of life

These attributes have been honed by the 25 years I've spent in people and organisational development roles.  This work has ranged from training and coaching jobseekers through to leading the capability development function and developing executive leaders in one of the world’s largest local government organisations.

Along the way, I’ve picked up postgraduate university qualifications in psychology and business.  I've also gained accreditations in coaching, career guidance and personality inventories, and I hold Associate Fellow status with the Australian Institute of Management.

I’ve set up Elephant Capability so that I can help organisations deliver strong results in a human-centred way, and help people to reach their potential so that they can live more fulfilling lives.
