My name is Peter Bowe and I’m the person behind Elephant Capability. I live in Queensland with my wife Sarah, my daughter Audrey and my Miniature Schnauzer Billie.

For 30 years I’ve been working professionally developing people and organisations, and I love everything about this work. I completed degrees in psychology and business to start my journey. Then I developed and refined my skills in a range of government and community organisations over many years and numerous roles. In 2019 I began focusing full-time on Elephant Capability to offer my skills to a larger and more diverse range of clients.

The elephant represents a range of things that are important in the work I do. First and foremost, elephants have a gentle power that is a very useful model for how leaders can operate to achieve success. They are also excellent learners, being one of the smartest creatures of all. Last but not least, elephants are social in nature, living their lives in herds and operating collaboratively to survive. Powerful, Gentle, Good Learner, Team Player - it pays to look to the elephant!

I’ve set up Elephant Capability so that I can help public sector and not for profit organisations to deliver impressive results in a human-centred way. I also want to help the people within organisations to make a positive impact, reach their potential and enjoy the work they do.
